Who I Am
I am not one of them. I am one of us. I’m an originalist who still believes in the American Experiment. I’m inspired by the struggle and triumph of pioneers who knew we deserved better than subservience to government. I believe in the declaration that our life and liberty are sacred gifts of life, bestowed to everyone by nature's God, and not granted by a legislature. I agree with the founders who proclaimed that government, at best, is a necessary evil for safeguarding our sacred gifts and, at worst, an instrument of tyranny meant to benefit those who desire to impose their authority over the governed.
I am the descendent of Italian immigrants and the fruit of the American dream. My family emigrated to America from Europe, between the 1900s and 1950s, to forge a better life. They instilled in me the value of education and the importance of pursuing my passions with vigor and determination. They taught me that achievement is the result of my own effort and I’ve seen the pride that comes from achieving for yourself and providing a good life for your family. They also taught me to stand up for what is right; to pursue truth and defend the well-being of myself and others from anyone who tried to take it away.
I am a son, husband, and friend who will tell the bitter truth even if it’s not what they want to hear. I'm a fierce opponent of dishonor and of all who try to lie to and impose their hypocrisy on us. More importantly, I am not from the Ivy League. I am not from a family of political pedigree; I am not a lawyer; I am not a tycoon and I did not receive any favors. I am not one of them; I am one of us.
